As a two-time Olympian in skeleton, Mirela represented Canada at the 2018 Pyeongchang and 2022 Beijing Winter Games, earning multiple World Cup medals and a reputation for explosive starts and fearless performance under pressure. Born in Bulgaria and immigrating to Canada as a child, she honed her athletic prowess first in rugby at the University of Guelph before discovering skeleton in 2012, quickly rising through the ranks to become one of the sport's top competitors until her retirement in 2024.
